Mason County motorcycle crash fatal to Canton man

A motorcycle crash in Mason County claimed the life of a 58-year-old Canton man Sunday. Illinois State Police said Jeffery Ray Watson was riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Illinois 78 about one-half mile north of East County Road 1100 when he went off the road, traveled along a ditch and struck a utility pole. The accident occurred about 7:25 p.m., police said. Watson was pronounced dead at Mason County Hospital.
