A Bloomington woman was charged Saturday with aggravated drunken driving after an early morning, two-car accident near Main and Empire streets that sent four people to the hospital, including one who was critically injured.

Witnesses told police Jamie Webb, 37, of the 500 block of West Grove Street, was westbound on Empire when she ran a red light at an estimated 45 mph to 60 mph and hit another car. All four of the occupants of the other vehicle were hospitalized, according a court record released by the McLean County state's attorney's office.

Webb was driving from a bar east of Veterans Parkway with a passenger, Orlando Jones, about 1:50 a.m. Saturday when the collision occurred, prosecutors said. Neither was injured, according to reports.

Webb was charged Saturday with aggravated driving under the influence and jailed in lieu of posting $50,025.

One of the injured, Michael Collins, suffered multiple skull fractures from the collision and underwent brain surgery immediately, prosecutors said. He was listed in critical condition, court records said, but hospitals in the Twin Cities, Peoria and Springfield had no record of treating him.

Three female occupants also were injured, but their names and conditions were not released.

Prosecutors said officers at the scene reported Webb was making statements such as, “Did I drive? I don't think I drove. They said I drove. I didn't drive, did I?"

Blood and urine tests indicated she had a blood alcohol level of 0.156 percent — almost twice the legal limit for driving.

The crash remains under investigation, according to a Bloomington Police Department. Police released no details on the accident.
