Lloyd "Mark" McCloughan, 50, dies in motorcycle crash on Shipman Road near Carlinville, Illinois

A Glenarm man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding went off the road south of Carlinville on Saturday evening. Lloyd "Mark" McCloughan, 50, was pronounced dead at Carlinville Area Hospital. Illinois State Police said McCloughan was riding on Shipman Road, just north of Robinson Lane, at 6:41 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle and went off the ride side of the roadway. He was thrown from the motorcycle. Police said alcohol was a factor in the crash, and McCloughan was not wearing a helmet. The investigation continues.
