Two children who were killed with their father in a crash on I-65 in northwest Indiana on Monday night have been identified.

A father and two of his children were killed overnight, when their SUV rear-ended a semi-trailer truck on Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana.

Indiana State Police said a tanker truck carrying nitric acid crashed and rolled over on I-65 near Roselawn around 10:30 p.m. Monday, spilling its load. About an hour later, an 2008 Toyota Sequoia slammed into the rear of a semi-trailer truck that was stopped in a traffic backup from the crash, killing three people in the vehicle.

The driver of the Sequoia, 45-year-old Malik Chaganti, and a son and daughter were killed in the crash. A third child survived the crash and was taken to the hospital.

The two children killed were later identified as Anusha Chaganti, 14, and Vivek Chaganti 9.

The truck driver was not hurt.
