ISP: Perry County teen killed in moped crash

State police believe the other driver, identified as Brock Smith, 26, had meth in his system at the time of the crash.

He was placed into custody without incident and was booked into the Perry County Jail at 10:45 p.m. CDT on a Level 4 felony count of operating while intoxicated causing death and a misdemeanor count of operating while under the influence of a controlled substance. 

Police say 18-year-old Phoenix Donaldson of Bristow pulled out from a driveway at 740 Bristow-St. Meinrad Road and, as he drove his moped into the southbound lane, he was struck by a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Aveo driven by 26-year-old Brock Smith of Tell City. Donaldson was pronounced dead at the scene. Smith was arrested on suspicion of having methamphetamine in his system at the time of the crash.

Phoenix is my grandson who will never know the joys of being married or having children and having the life he planned his parents and brother miss him terribly also other family members miss his smiling face and not being able to spend time together justice needs to prevail Phoenix needs justice

brock deserves what he gets. Phoenix did nothing to cause this. He didnt deserve it either.  

 He is my cousin someone i wil never forget we talked alot he ment the world it is not fair. this man wil be chagred i hope at least justice for Pheonix
