3 vehicle crash near railroad tracks. Serious injuries reported.

Police are investigating a crash involving three vehicles on the city's south side.

Police say around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, one vehicle crossed the center line and hit another one near Southport and Bluff roads. Then a third vehicle crashed into the other two.

Emergency crews had to cut the roof off a car to get someone out.

Police did not say how many people were hurt, but did report serious injuries.

The accident happened near a railroad crossing. The track was inspected and officials say it was not damaged during the crash.

Police did have to stop a train that was going through while they were cleaning up the crash.
