Vehicle leaves scene after person hit on city's northwest side.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was investigating a serious crash on the city's northwest side on Friday morning where a person was hit by a vehicle that then left the scene.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was investigating a serious crash on the city's northwest side on Friday morning where a person was hit by a vehicle that then left the scene. Around 7:30 a.m., police were called to the 7100 block of Crystal Bay Drive which is just east of Westlane and Michigan Road. Callers reported an unconscious person was lying in the middle of the street. Police confirm there was a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. Witnesses described a green minivan seen heading eastbound from the scene with damage to the windshield. The male victim was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition. Westlane was closed in that area around 8 a.m. while police continued to investigate.
