Man dead, child injured after train-truck crash in Morgantown

According to Morgan County Sheriff Robert Downey, a pickup truck was driving westbound on Indiana 135 when it stalled on the railroad tracks. The driver was getting out of the truck as a train hit the back of it, forcing the truck into the driver.

The male driver had exited the vehicle when the train hit the back of the truck. The vehicle then struck the man. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

Brad Barngrover died heroically trying to free his son from his truck after it stalled while on a railroad crossing with an oncoming train. Thankfully their son was not seriously physically harmed but now has to live with the memory of the awful event.
The driver was transported to IU Health Morgan Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The child was taken to Riley with non-life threatening injuries.
