Authorities say slick roads from a winter storm contributed to a crash in rural central Indiana that killed a 19-year-old from Florida who was visiting relatives in the area.

Authorities say slick roads from a winter storm contributed to a crash in rural central Indiana that killed a 19-year-old from Florida who was visiting relatives in the area.

The crash happened near Tipton when William Lamoreaux of Plant City, Fla., lost control of the SUV he was driving late Wednesday and it overturned, rolling several times into a field along Indiana 19 about 25 miles north of Indianapolis.

Police state that Lamoreaux was pronounced dead at the scene and a 14-year-old cousin who was riding with him suffered a broken wrist. Police said speed and road conditions were factors in the crash.

The National Weather Service reports up to 6 inches of snowfall in parts of central Indiana.
