Police make arrest in deadly hit, run in Washington Co., Ind.

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Police in Southern Indiana have made an arrest in a deadly hit and run in Washington County. Twenty-two-year-old Derek Deaton is accused of hitting and killing 70-year-old Mitchell Lovins. Deputies said Deaton was driving on State Road 56 near Quaker Lane in Salem when his mini-van slid off the road and hit Lovins as he was walking alongside. Deaton's charged with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death.
