20-year-old Miss Crawford County dies in car crash

According to her obituary, Sutherland was from Leavenworth, Ind., and worked as a service technician at Heritage Ford in Corydon and as a hostess at Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth.

Visitation held for car crash victim, Miss Crawford County

 Indiana State Police are working to determine the cause of a crash that killed the current Miss Crawford County Saturday morning. Officials confirm Abby Leigh Sutherland, 20, was involved in a single-car accident on Tree Drive west of Palmyra at 12:30 a.m. The car she was riding in was going west on Tree Drive when it came over a hill, went off the road, hit several trees and rolled, the Harrison County Sheriff's Office said. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday after 9 a.m. at the Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. The family is asking donations be made to Kosair Children'€™s Hospital in Louisville for cancer research.

She is just a sweet, sweet girl," Haverstock said. According to the Harrison County Sherriff's Department no charges have been filed and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.  It was a quiet afternoon Monday on Tree Drive, in Palmyra, the site where Miss Crawford County Abby Sutherland died early Saturday morning. Sutherland worked two jobs, accepting the second just recently.
