Three-year-old Bryson Washington's family was swimming off a pontoon boat in St. Joseph River, when Bryson fell into the water.

"We always remind boaters when they're out on the water," said conservation officer Jonathan Boyd. "Toddler, adults and everybody to wear a life a life jacket."

A family friend has started a GoFundMe page after a three-year-old child pulled from Baugo Bay died.
3-year-old Bryson Washington was wearing a life jacket as he swam with his family but he took it off when he got back onto pontoon boat they were riding on the river. Family members on the boat heard a splash and realized that Bryson had disappeared under the water. The family called 911 and divers raced to find him, but by the time they did nearly an hour later, it was too late.
