‘Good Samaritan’ killed in early morning accident on Interstate 70

Officials said a car, semi and truck were involved near the 27 mile marker around 3:50 Tuesday morning. A good samaritan from Texas had stopped to assist a stranded motorist who had swerved to miss a deer but then struck a guardrail.
A good samaritan stopped to help a driver that had swerved to avoid a deer, but wound up hitting the guardrail on Interstate 70. The good samaritan got out of their vehicle just as a semi was coming over a hill, and was not able to see the two people before it was two late. The semi struck both the good samaritan and the stranded driver, killing the good samaritan and sending the stranded driver to the hospital. Traffic was closed in the area for several hours while authorities investigated the accident.
