12-Year-Old is Third to Die as Result of U-Turn Crash on I-80

The accident happened just after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 235, just west of Coralville. An eastbound car tried to make a U-turn to head back west and it was broad-sided by a semi as it turned into the eastbound lanes.

Investigators say Edwards was driving in the right-hand lane of westbound I-80 when he slowed down in an attempt to use the median crossover and make a U-turn, in order to travel back east.

The Brown family has also seen support through a fundraiser.  As of Wednesday morning, May 8, the fund has raised more than $10,000.  A fundraiser set up for the Quarterman family has garnered more than $18,000 as of Wednesday morning.
