Police say the driver immediately got out of her car and rendered aid to the pedestrian until police and medics arrived. AMES, Iowa — A pedestrian was injured Thursday morning after being hit by a distracted driver. Ames police say a driver was attempting to turn left from Beach Avenue onto Lincoln Way about 10:30 a.m. when she got a call on her cellphone.
The driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
