Timothy Brown Jr., a Forest City college student, was killed when his small boat overturned at Torkelson Pits Conservation Area on Saturday. A remembrance event to honor Brown is being planned for Monday night on campus. Authorities believe Brown was alone in the recreational watercraft when friends from the shore called for help. The cause of the tragedy is under investigation.
