34-year-old man dead and 11-year-old girl injured in single-vehicle crash in Lenexa

LENEXA, Kan. — One person is dead after a single-vehicle accident Monday morning. An 11-year-old female passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to officers, a 34-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the cause of the accident is still under investigation. The identities of the victims has not yet been released.

Overland Park man killed in single-vehicle accident in Lenexa

An Overland Park man was killed in a single-vehicle accident around 6:10 a.m. An 11-year-old female passenger was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Lenexa Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the cause of the accident. David C. Young, 34, was identified as the driver of a Chevrolet Cruze that was northbound on Strang Line Road, south of College Blvd, when it left the roadway and struck a large sign. Monday, said Master Police Officer Dan Friesen in a news release.
