Six-year-old boy killed in two-vehicle accident.

A six-year-old boy died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident near 335th Street and Rockville Road in Miami County, Kan. The accident happened around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of the two gravel roads.

A six-year-old boy died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident near 335th Street and Rockville Road in Miami County, Kan. The accident happened around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of the two gravel roads.

Three others were injured. The Miami County Sheriff’s Office identified them as Jacob Masterson, 19, of Paola, Kan.; Stacy Adams, 45, of rural Louisburg, Kan., and her 8-year-old grandson.

Masterson sustained minor injuries and was taken by ground ambulance to a Kansas City area hospital. Adams sustained critical injuries and was taken by air ambulance to a Kansas City hospital. Her 8-year-old grandson was taken by ground ambulance and was said to be in stable condition. Adams’ six-year-old grandson died at the scene.

According to the sheriff’s office, Masterson, driving a 2003 Cadillac, was traveling northbound at the time of the accident. Adams, driving a 2001 Ford Taurus, was traveling westbound. According to police, the front end of Masterson’s Cadillac collided into the driver’s side of Adams’ Ford Taurus.

The intersection where the accident happened is an “uncontrolled intersection,” meaning there are no lights or sings to indicate the right-of-way.
