At around 5:40 p.m. Rupp told KSN, “They have recovered one victim out of the trench and the location of the other victim is still unknown at this time but [crews] will continue recovery efforts.”
Candlelight service to be held in Hays for victims of trench collapse
The service will be Sunday at 6:30 p.m. near the Ellis County Administration building on 8th and Main. It was the site of the accident. Several pastors will offer prayers, and several representatives from the community, including Mayor Eber Phelps and EMS Director Kerry McCue, will also participate.
