Jordan L. Manning, 19, seriously injured, transported to hospital, after his motorcycle crashes on Kansas 15 and 31st Street in Wichita, following a high speed police pursuit.
Motorcyclist injured after pursuit exceeds speeds of 100 mph.
A 19-year-old Wichitan was injured Saturday morning when his motorcycle crashed following a pursuit by the Kansas Highway Patrol that reached speeds of more than 100 mph, authorities said.
Jordan L. Manning, 19, sustained non-life threatening injuries from the collision in south Wichita after a chase that began at 1:03 a.m. in the northeast part of the city, Trooper Gary Warner said.
Another trooper attempted to make a traffic stop of Manning on eastbound K-96. The pursuit continued on westbound Kellogg, then south on I-135 before exiting on southbound K-15, Warner said.
Nine minutes after the pursuit started, the cycle struck a curb at the intersection of K-15 and 31st Street South and overturned, he added.
Manning was ejected from the cycle. He was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in fair condition, Warner said. The hospital didn’t list Manning as a patient by 8 a.m., a spokeswoman said.
KHP is still investigating the incident.
