Wichita police are seeking the public’s help in finding who struck and killed a pedestrian as he was crossing Main Street on Monday night. A 46-year-old woman reported finding the 65-year-old man in the 1100 block of North Main shortly before 6:15 p.m. Monday, Wichita police Lt. Todd Ojile said.

Wichita police seek driver in deadly hit-and-run crash

WICHITA — Wichita police are asking the public for help finding a driver in a deadly hit-and-ran crash. After a woman found the man in the street, he was taken to a Wichita hospital, where he died. Godd Ojile says the 65-year-old victim was hit by a vehicle Monday night as he was crossing a street. The victim was pushing a shopping cart that contained personal belongings and liquor when he was hit. Ojile says investigators have little information about what happened and are asking for possible witnesses to come forward.

A 74-year-old Wichita woman has turned herself in to police for a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a 65-year-old man this week. Police say she was the same woman who reported the accident to police Monday. Police did an initial interview with the woman Monday, but her vehicle showed no signs of damage, Lt. James Espinoza said Friday. After she contacted police Thursday, a second examination of her vehicle showed no signs of damage, he said.
