According to police, a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder being driven by a 36-year-old woman was traveling eastbound on US 42 and trying to pass a 2013 Honda Civic, being driven by a 22-year-old woman with two children in the car. Before the Pathfinder could pass the Civic on the two-lane highway, it struck a 2017 Rumpke Transportation garbage truck that was being driven by a 43-year-old man.
