Man charged with murder after crash kills teenage bicyclist - WBBJ TV

MORGANFIELD, Ky. (AP) – The Kentucky State Police charged a Morganfield man with murder after he allegedly hit a 17-year-old bicyclist while driving under the influence. The Union County Sheriff’s Office asked the Kentucky State Police to assist in the investigation. Freeman is charged with murder, aggravated operating a motor vehicle under the influence and driving on a suspended license. State Police said Freeman was driving under the influence on a highway in Union County around 8:30 p.m. Steven W. Freeman, 22, is being held at the Union County Detention Center.

KSP close highway to investigate deadly Union Co. crash

Kentucky State Police were back on Highway 2091 Friday to investigate the deadly crash that killed a teen on a bicycle.The road was closed for about an hour Friday afternoon near Highway 60. Troopers say 17-year old Damon Collins was riding his bike on the road Wednesday night when he was hit by a car. Troopers say the driver of the car, 22-year-old Steven Freeman was under the influence at the time. Freeman will make his first court appearance next week.

Union Co. man accused of killing teen on bike sentenced

A Union County man accused of hitting and killing a teenager on a bicycle has been sentenced.

Steven Freeman, 22, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
