Report: Driver tested positive for 'spice' after crash that killed wife Posted: Updated: LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Newly released records show that a man charged with murder and DUI in a crash that killed his wife tested positive for synthetic marijuana. He later tested positive for the substance, a toxicology report shows. The driver of the second truck told police he had not time to react before hitting Thomas' car nearly head-on. His wife Cynthia Thomas, 36, died in the Feb. 22 crash. A collision report indicates that synthetic marijuana, also called spice, was found in Thomas' rented car.

Update: One person dies following 3-car crash on Dixie Highway

One of the involved cars was pulling a trailer, but that driver sustained no injuries.
Shortly after 1:00pm, a southbound Toyota on Dixie Highway drifted into the northbound lanes and collided with two oncoming vehicles, both of which were pickup trucks. The front seat passenger of the Toyota, identified as Cynthia Thomas, 36, was severely injured and died that night at the hospital. Three other victims in the crash were also hospitalized, though no further details about them were released.
