Friday on La. 498, west of La. 1. Troopers say Batiste lost control and went off the left side of the road before the vehicle overturned. The 2003 Ford Expedition, driven by Marquita A. Batiste, of Alexandria, was westbound on La. 498 when she tried to pass a vehicle after entering a curve. Troopers say Batiste was transported to Rapides Regional Trauma Center with minor injuries, and 4-year-old Amaria Lachney was ejected during the crash.
