Two people were killed Tuesday night in a head-on crash on La. 182 in Iberia Parish, State Police said.

Two people were killed Tuesday night in a head-on crash on La. 182 in Iberia Parish, State Police said.

Creig Broussard, 53, of St. Martinville, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet truck west on La. 182 when he crossed the center line and crashed into an eastbound 2004 GMC truck driven by Brian Stockstill, 36, of New Iberia, a StateTrooper 1st Class said in a release.

Hammons said there were no passengers in the vehicles.

Both men, who were wearing their seat belts, were pronounced dead at the scene by an official with the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.

Police said investigators do not know why Broussard ran into the opposite lane on the two-lane highway or if alcohol impairment was a factor.

Toxicology samples were sent to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

A three-vehicle crash on U.S. 90 on Monday afternoon left one Jeanerette man dead and two New Iberia residents injured, a State Police spokesman said.

Jarwin Bourque, 47, died at a hospital from injuries sustained in the afternoon crash, a State Trooper said.

Troopers said Dawn Broussard, 21, of New Iberia, was traveling east on U.S. 90, east of La. 88, at 1:12 p.m. when she ran off the side of the interstate, through the median and begin driving in the opposite lane, Hammons said.

A motorcyclist was critically injured after crashing into a car that pulled into its path on Thursday morning in New Iberia, the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office announced.

Darrel Toepfer, 54 of Eunice, was wearing a helmet, but not one not certified by the Department of Transportation, and sustained head injuries in the crash, Sheriff Louis Ackal said in a press release. He was taken to a Lafayette hospital.

State police say a 21-year-old Thibodaux man died in a head-on collision on La. 182 in Raceland.

Troopers say Andrew Carter died after the car he was riding in crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming car around 3 p.m. Sunday.

Troopers says Carter was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Harrell says the drivers of both vehicles - both wearing seat belts during the crash - were taken to Thibodaux Regional Hospital with severe injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

State Police arrested a Scott woman accused of drunken driving and hitting a pickup head-on Thursday afternoon on La. 342, killing the pickup’s driver, a 74-year-old Duson man.

The crash happened about 12:45 p.m. east of La. 35, also called Abbeville Highway, on La. 342, also known as Golden Grain Road, State Police reported in a news release.

A 23-year-old woman was killed Wednesday in a head-on crash with a Mack truck on La. 662 in Assumption Parish. Tasha Massoletti, of Morgan City, was driving northbound on La. 662 in a 2003 Ford F-150 about 9:30 a.m., when her truck crossed the center line and struck a Mack truck heading in the opposite direction. Massoletti was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The driver of the Mack truck, Carlos Gonzalez, 43, of Welsh, was not injured. A breath test showed he had not consumed alcohol.

Louisiana State Police say a 4-year-old child died in a head-on collision on La. Highway 21 in Washington Parish.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. Monday.

A Trooper spokesperson says a car driven by 26-year-old Linda D. Beard, of Foxworth, Miss., was southbound, crossed the center line and hit a car driven by 55-year-old Joan Ezell.

Troopers stated that Lavonne Darlene-Theresa Beard of Frankinton was improperly restrained in a booster seat by the lap belt only and received fatal injuries in the crash.
