Two killed in fiery Tangipahoa Parish crash: State Police

Two men were killed Sunday (Sept. 13) when their car flipped and burst into flames on Louisiana 10 in Tangipahoa Parish, according to the Louisiana State Police. Blood samples were obtained and are undergoing analysis at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office pronounced Williams and Pitts, 30, dead at the scene, according to State Police Troop L. The crash remains under investigation, but troopers do not believe speed was a factor, state police said. That flipped the car, which then caromed into a fence post and a tree and burst into flames, state police said. Given the nature of the accident and the ensuing fire, investigators don't know if the two men were wearing seatbelts, state police said.
