Fred Walker, 55, killed in head-on crash with car passing in no-passing zone on La. 182 in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana

Shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Ernest Harris, 22, of Bridge City, was traveling east on La. 182 when it crossed the center line and began to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, Louisiana State Police said in a news release. At the same time, a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Fred Walker, 55, of Baton Rouge, was traveling west on La. 182, approaching the Camaro. Walker was unable to avoid the oncoming Camaro, State Police said, and the two vehicles collided head-on. Harris, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, State Police said. He was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
