2 dead in head-on collision on LA 25 north of Covington

Louisiana State Police say two people are dead after a head-on collision on State Route 25 north of Covington. A third person was in need of medical attention, according to the St. Tammany Parish Fire District 12. The vehicles involved were a Cadillac and Lincoln, and one of the occupants was airlifted from the scene by Acadian Ambulance. No further information is available at this time.

The only surviving passenger in Friday night's (Jan. 22) deadly head-on crash north of Covington is in "fair" condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman. The passenger in Cyprian's car, his wife Lois Cyprian, was airlifted to North Oaks Hospital. Both she and Joseph Cyprian, who each wore seat belts, were pronounced dead at the scene. Lois Cyprian, whose age was not provided by authorities, was in the front passenger seat of her husband's car. Both drivers, Edith Brown, 82, of Mandeville, and Joseph Cyprian Jr., 83, of Folsom, were killed in the crash shortly after 6 p.m. on Louisiana 25, according to Louisiana State Police.
