Kenner Police investigating early-morning traffic fatality.

The Kenner Police Department is investigating a fatal one-car crash that occurred Saturday (March 8) shortly before 5 a.m. in the 700 block of Clay Street, near the intersection with Airline Drive.

The Kenner Police Department is investigating a fatal one-car crash that occurred Saturday (March 8) shortly before 5 a.m. in the 700 block of Clay Street, near the intersection with Airline Drive.

The driver, James Isom, 40, of Metairie, was seen speeding in a 2004 Saturn in the 600 block of Clay Street. According to Kenner police, he ran a red light as he approached Airline, and his vehicle flipped and crashed into a utility pole.

Isom was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said his death was the result of driver error, speed and not wearing a seat belt.
