The boy was thrown 45 feet from the site of the accident. Hammer had the right-of-way and was not injured in the collision, police said.

A 15-year-old boy was critically injured after being hit by an SUV while biking Saturday afternoon in Mandeville. The boy was flown to University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. Around 2 p.m., Stephanie Hammer, 33, of Madisonville, traveled East on Monroe Street when the boy, traveling North on Lafayette Street, crossed her path and was struck.
