A 50-year-old man riding a bicycle was killed Wednesday night in a crash in the Bywater neighborhood, New Orleans police said.
The accident happened about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Saint Claude Avenue and Pauline Street.
The driver of a silver Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Saint Claude Avenue in the left lane when the bicyclist, who was traveling north on Pauline Street attempted to cross the car's lane and was subsequently struck by the car.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said no charges will be filed in this investigation.
