2 crash victims, 1 suicide after police chase in New Orleans

A car fleeing Louisiana State Police troopers crashed in New Orleans on Wednesday, killing a 2-year-old girl and a man who were thrown from the vehicle, authorities said. A third man killed himself at the scene.

A toddler girl and her father who died Wednesday (June 28) in a fatal crash and suicide that followed a police chase across New Orleans have been identified by Louisiana State Police. A third occupant in the car, an adult male, has not yet been identified.

Trooper First Class Melissa Matey, a spokeswoman for the State Police, reiterated during a joint press conference at NOPD headquarters on Friday that troopers could not see that there was an adult passenger or the toddler in the car as they chased it.
