One dead, one injured after Slidell area crash early Tuesday

Fox 8 reported the crash occurred at Centennial Plaza. The crash occurred around 7 a.m., he said. One person was killed and another brought to an area hospital following an early-morning crash Tuesday (Nov. 3) near Slidell, State Police said. State Police Trooper Dustin Dwight said the crash on U.S. 190, west of Thompson Road (Louisiana 433), involved two vehicles. Details were not available, but Dwight said the driver of one of the vehicles died of injuries sustained in the crash.

The preliminary investigation led crash scene investigators to determine Mangini was driving a Ford Crown Victoria westbound on US 190.  For reasons still under investigation, Mangini’s vehicle exited the right side of the roadway.  Mangini overcorrected to the left, causing her vehicle to begin to rotate counter-clockwise as it traveled into the eastbound lane.
