1 dead, 1 in critical condition after crash on I-20

According to police on the scene, the wreck involved 2 vehicles, a Fiat and Kia sedan, one of which was reportedly traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. 

Police say the impact of the crash sent the wrong-way driver's vehicle, a Fiat, off I-20 and it crashed onto the street below. 

Two Dead Following Two-Car Crash on I-20

Police say 32-year-old Daniel Balentine of Waskom, Texas, was headed east on I-20 near Greenwood Road just after 10 p.m., when his car was struck head-on by a Fiat 500 that was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane. Balentine was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Shreveport man claims to have witnessed "fatal mistake"

"There were several cars laying on the horn, and the car just kept on going right up the ramp, all the headlights coming at you, I just don't know. Something had to be wrong," added Dickson.

A nearby business captured surveillance video of what appears to be a car turning the wrong way towards the busy interstate.    

Update: Name of second victim from fatal accident released

According to information from Shreveport Police Department, the driver of the Fiat has been identified at Tyler Cooke, 25, of Las Vegas, Nevada.
