Woman struck in Lewiston hit-and-run dies

According to Lt. Michael McGonagle of the Lewiston Police Department, Kubeloso was struck at about 3 p.m. while walking down Howe Street from Birch Street. She later died at a local hospital, the release from state police said. McGonagle said a vehicle traveling down Howe Street between Birch Street and Walnut Street struck the woman from behind before fleeing the scene.

Maine man charged in hit-and-run death of pregnant girlfriend

State police said Evaristo Deus was taken into custody Wednesday morning at JFK Airport in New York City after he boarded a plane bound for Haiti.

Community honors Lewiston hit-and-run victim

Maine State Police said Kubeloso was hit and killed by her boyfriend at the intersection of Birch and Howe Streets. Kuboloso's unborn child also died.
A 32-year-old pregnant woman, Lavdrinha Kubeloso, died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon. Police arrested the dead woman’s boyfriend, Evaristo Deus, 33, of 37 Union St., Lewiston, 10 minutes before he boarded a plane for Haiti.
