Man dead in second fatal crash in Bowie

A man died in a crash in Bowie on Thursday afternoon, the second fatal vehicle collision in the area in less than 24 hours. The driver of one vehicle was killed, and the two occupants of the other suffered injuries that were not life-threatening injuries.  

1 dead, 2 injured in Prince George's Co. crash - WTOP

WASHINGTON — One person is dead after a head-on crash In Prince George’s County Thursday afternoon. The driver of one of the vehicles, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene, says Prince George’s County Police Officer Harry Bond. The two vehicles collided along Laurel-Bowie Road near Powder Mill Road in Laurel, Maryland, around 12:50 p.m. Below is a map of the area near the crash: Follow @WTOP on Twitter and WTOP on Facebook. Two people in the other vehicle — a female and a young girl — were both taken to the hospital.

Woman killed after head-on crash in Laurel

LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- A woman was killed and a child was injured after a head-on crash Thursday afternoon in Laurel. The woman was killed at the scene. According to Prince George's County police, the child and another person were taken to a nearby hospital after the accident. Police say the accident took place at around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Laurel-Bowie Road (Route 197) and Loblolly Pine Drive. Details as to the cause of the accident and the identities of those involved are not known.

Lanham man identified as victim of fatal crash

Prince George’s County police have identified the man who died after a crash in Laurel as Lanham resident Charles Fletcher. Thursday when a car heading south crossed the center line and hit Fletcher head-on near Loblolly Pine Drive, police said. It is unclear why the car that crashed into Fletcher crossed the center line, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to call 301-731- 4422 or, to remain anonymous, 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Fletcher, 66, was heading north on Laurel Bowie Road at about 12:30 p.m.
