About a half-mile away, police said Hinson lost control and crashed into three vehicles, and one of the drivers died.
Larry Donnell Hinson, 22, was driving on Branch Avenue around 8:30 p.m. when an officer pulled him over for driving without headlights. Hinson instead sped off, striking an officer in the process. That officer and two others then followed and attempted to catch him. Hinson crashed into multiple cars about a half mile away. He then ran from the vehicle on foot. Police found and arrested him 30 minutes later. The car he was driving had been stolen. Charlie Viverett, 61, of Clinton, Maryland, died from injuries sustained when Hinson crashed into his vehicle.

Comments

PG needs to have a no chase policy for stiken vehicles because the lives of innocent people are being endangered. The risk to the overall public of chasing a stolen vehicle is too great and someone is always going to injured or killed.
