A 25-year-old pedestrian struck by a van and killed on Main Street late Tuesday night has been identified as Jason Kearchner, who lived at 663 Main St., officials said

A 25-year-old pedestrian struck by a van and killed on Main Street late Tuesday night has been identified as Jason Kearchner, who lived at 663 Main St., officials said.

About 11:30 p.m., police were called to the area of 1045 Main St. (Route 13) in North Leominster on a report of a man struck by a car.

Mr. Kearchner was rushed to HealthAlliance Hospital — Leominster Campus, where he was pronounced dead, said a spokesman for the District Attorney.

Preliminary reports show Kelly Hall-Daigneault, 35, of Lunenburg was driving her 2007 Kia Sedona north on Main Street when the man was struck.

Mr. Kearchner was standing or walking in the northbound lane and was wearing dark clothing at the time, the spokesman said.

Ms. Hall-Daigneault and her 9-year-old child were not injured. Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

No criminal charges have been filed. The fatality remains under investigation by Leominster and state police assigned to the district attorney's office.
