Talia Newfield, 16, identified as pedestrian killed in Needham crash; Second victim has significant injuries

Officials from the Norfolk District Attorney's Office said police were called to the area of Webster and Holland streets in Needham around 5 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving two pedestrians.

Students could be seen going in and out of Needham High School to meet with grief counselors Sunday, the day after their friend and classmate was fatally struck just outside the school on a nearby street.

He continued, “We don’t understand what happened. We don’t understand how two beautiful young women can get taken from us in the space of about 20 feet on a clear evening on a flat, straight street in Needham. We just don’t understand.”
