Pedestrian struck and killed on Route 1 in Peabody

A 33-year-old woman was stuck by a car and killed as she was walking in the road just after midnight, police said.

State Police responded at about 12:18 a.m. to a report of an accident involving a pedestrian in front of Red’s Tavern on Route 1 North.

The CRV driver, 51-year-old Brendan Kennedy of Ipswich, was uninjured and no charges had been filed as of late Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Noelle Learned-Jemiolo, 33, was walking in the left travel lane of Route 1 near Newbury Street just after midnight when she was struck by a Honda CRV that was heading north. She was brought to Lahey Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV, a 51-year-old Ipswich man identified as Brendan Kennedy, was not injured in the crash.
