Three injured, one in critical condition after three-vehicle crash in New Salem, MA

New Salem car crash seriously injures one, victim flown to Worcester by medical helicopter

The accident involved three cars, a 2004 pickup truck, a 2013 Honda Civic and a 2011 Toyota Corolla. Police could not say which drivers and passengers were hurt or give information about the injured.

New Salem accident remains under investigation; 19-year-old seriously injured

The accident occurred at about 1:25 p.m. about a mile south of the New Salem General Store when a 49-year-old Athol man driving a pickup truck north crossed into the northbound lane. He grazed the rear of one driver’s car and then collided with the car driven by the 19-year-old.
Of the four people injured, one was airlifted to University of Massachusetts Medical Center, while three others were taken via ambulance to Athol Hospital.
