State police have identified a man who was killed in an early Friday morning rollover in the northbound lanes of Interstate 91 as 24-year-old Luis Cardona Rodriguez of Holyoke.

State police have identified a man who was killed in an early Friday morning rollover in the northbound lanes of Interstate 91 as 24-year-old Luis Cardona Rodriguez of Holyoke.

The single-car crash was reported shortly before 2 a.m. just before Exit 9B in the North End.

State police said their preliminary investigation shows that the 2002 Honda Accord, for reasons still under investigation, lost control, and at some point left the roadway on the right side and rolled over.

Rodriguez, who was ejected from the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The ramp was closed until nearly 5:30 a.m.

Troopers were assisted by the state police Crime Scene Services Section, the state police Collision Analysis Section, the state Department of Transportation and American Medical Response.
