MSP says it’s not precisely known why Johnson ran, but he did have six outstanding arrest warrants.

Benton Harbor man dies after police chase crash

Investigators say they don't know why he fled but he had six outstanding warrants mostly for traffic offenses.
Just after 12:10 a.m. Monday, troopers pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on Foster Street near Pipestone Road. The driver of the other vehicle drove off , and the driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree on the side of Pearl Street. The driver, 22-year-old Harold Darnel-Levon Johnson of Benton Harbor, was taken to the hospital and later died.
