Inkster Woman Charged In Deaths Of 2 Motorcyclists OnI-94

A 31-year-old Inkster woman has been charged in connection with a fatal crash on I-94 that killed two motorcyclists. The accident happened around 2:35 p.m. when Woods lost control of her SUV on I-94 near Oakwood Boulevard in Allen Park. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office says Chana Woods was under the influence of drugs at the time of Saturday’s crash. She’s charged with two counts each of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence causing death, and driving with a suspended license. Her SUV slammed into two motorcycles driven by 48-year-old Marko Rubin, of Macomb Township, and 49-year-old France Bowers, of Southfield.

Police find heroin residue in SUV that killed two motorcyclists in I-94 crash

Police identified them Monday as Marko Cigatino Rubin, 48, of Macomb Township, and France Kevan Bowers, 49, of Southfield. The driver of the SUV, a 34-year-old Inkster woman, was arrested after being treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. Police searched the vehicle and found a small amount of marijuana and a lottery ticket on which there was heroin residue, according to state police Lt. Michael Shaw. The driver, who was operating the vehicle on a suspended license, was being held pending review from the prosecutor's office, police said.

Woman charged in crash that left two motorcyclists dead in roadway will be sentenced

Chana Leeanna Woods pleaded guilty to two counts of driving under the influence causing death and will be sentenced in Wayne County Circuit Court Monday.
