Twenty middle school students and a bus driver escaped injury today when their bus struck a car on Detroit’s west side. The bus clipped the rear of a white 2007 Chevrolet Impala, which was carrying three people, as both vehicles drove through the intersection at Heyden and Sawyer about 6:55 a.m., according to Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody. No one in either vehicle was hurt, and damage to the vehicles was minor because it was a slow-moving crash, Woody said. Apparently, the drivers were unclear about who had the right of way, Wood said.
