Gregg said the traffic signal had been malfunctioning earlier in the day and temporary stop signs were placed at the intersection. The signal then began working later in the day before it malfunctioned again, going dark.

Redford traffic signal at fatal crash not working for days

"Sunday morning it was out," said Bob Burr. "Some cars stop, some don't. There's no stop signs."
A 56-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision at a traffic light that had not been functioning for days. The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Inkster Road and Lyndon in Redford Township. Police say the man had stopped his three-wheel motorcycle at the light on northbound Inkster Road when he was struck from behind by a Chrysler. The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The other driver, a 37-year-old woman, was uninjured. The traffic signal at the intersection had reportedly not been working for days because of a power outage.

I'd bet the 37-year-old woman was on her cell phone either talking or texting when she failed to stop at the intersection and killed the guy.  Police everywhere have to start cracking down on driver cell phone usage.  It's become a pandemic.
