Rochester Hills man hit while jogging at Oakland University believed to be school’s first pedestrian death

His death comes at a time when most students are on recess following the winter semester.
A 25-year-old man was driving a car west on Pioneer Drive at about 5:00 p.m. on the campus of Oakland University when he struck 54-year-old Perry Badia, who was jogging to the east in the westbound lanes. Badia was transported to the hospital with major injuries and pronounced dead a few hours later. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

This site is for low-life, ambulance chaser lawyers. When a pedestrian is hit by a car, THERE IS NO NEED TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY.  The liability portion of the driver's insurance policy pays for any medical expenses. That is the only thing the pedestrian is entitled to; having their medical expenses paid. And a lawyer is not needed to file that claim. The driver's insurance company can be contacted directly.

@Ripoff Watcher: It is important to contact a competent attorney when you or someone you know has been injured in a motor vehicle accident. Ideally, the responsible no-fault insurer will pay benefits to the injured person, or that person’s surviving dependents, for all reasonable and necessary medical and rehabilitative expenses, wage loss and replacement services. However, if the insurance company is declining to pay these damages, a first-party claim is necessary, and an attorney should be contacted. Additionally, the pedestrian may be entitled to much more than just medical expenses. Just because the pedestrian was involved in an accident, does not mean he was at fault. This is why it is important to have an attorney evaluate each and every aspect of the claim to see if the pedestrian’s family is entitled to damages for the pedestrian’s conscious pain and suffering, funeral and burial expenses, loss of love, care and companionship, as well as wage loss in excess of the statutory first-party maximums.
