Police: Weather Likely A Factor In Crash That Killed 82-Year-OldPassenger

At least one person was killed and two others injured in an accident involving multiple semi-trucks and cars in Monroe County. Michigan State Police Lieutenant Tony Cuevas says investigators used a drone and took measurements to try to piece together just what caused the crash in heavy rain. Cuevas believes a 47-year-old Monroe woman’s car began to hydroplane while driving northbound on US 23. “She is in the right lane, she loses control and hits a vehicle in the left lane – she hits the median wall and comes back across US 23 sideways, with her passenger side exposed, and then her vehicle is hit by a semi,” said Cuevas.
