Man thrown off moped; in critical

James Bourdo of Shelbyville was riding the moped on Wildwood Road, near the intersection of Fawn Lake Road in Orangeville Township when the crash occurred around 5:40 p.m. Saturday. Authorities said Bourdo was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and suffered severe injuries.
A 65-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital after he was thrown off a moped. James Bourdo of Shelbyville was riding the moped on Wildwood Road, near the intersection of Fawn Lake Road in Orangeville Township when the crash occurred around 5:40 p.m. Saturday. Authorities said Bourdo was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and suffered severe injuries. West Michigan Air Care transported Bourdo to Borgess Hospital where he underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition.
